Our Team

How We Work
Our reasons for becoming financial professionals are deeply personal. We repeatedly saw many friends and family struggling to find the help they needed to map out their financial future. We are confident that with our understanding of personal finance, coupled with our training as financial professionals, we can help people better prepare for the future. After years in the business, we have developed a reputation for educating individuals in an easy-to-understand manner so they can grasp personal finance and use those concepts to pursue their financial objectives. We feel a commitment to our community.
Our team approach adds perspective to all we do and provides increased benefits to our clients.

Deborah J. Trouw, CFP®, ADPA®
Founder, Senior Wealth Advisor
(505) 365-2865
As the Founder and Senior Wealth Advisor at Elevation Wealth Partners, I have had the privilege of working with clients for over 16 years. My guiding tenet is the belief that financial planning can benefit everyone, regardless of background or circumstances.I’m passionate about demystifying the landscape of finances and creating a clear path forward for my clients. What motivates me most is having an impact with clients and seeing their confidence build as they find success. Whether it's guiding clients towards a secure retirement or assisting them during significant life transitions, I find great satisfaction in being a part of their financial journey.
Before becoming a wealth advisor, I worked as a tax professional. My background in tax assists me to advise my clients to invest wisely and in a tax-smart way. I specialize in solving complex problems, allowing individuals and families to build wealth and retire without worrying about running out of money.
Over the course of my career, I have obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation, the Accredited Domestic Partnership Advisor (ADPA) designation, the Series 7 and 66 securities licenses, and licenses to sell life and health insurance in New Mexico. My alma mater is the University of Bradford in the UK, and I began my career as a wealth advisor in 2007.
I firmly believe that a business can only serve its clients well when it is internally healthy. Therefore, I place a great deal of emphasis on investing in the development of my team. By ensuring that my team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge, we can provide our clients with the highest quality of service possible. This investment also extends to the resources we use, as we continually seek to improve our tools and technology to better serve our clients.
Out of the office, I love to golf, cook, and, at the end of the day, make a top shelf margarita!
Michael F. Trouw
Senior Paraplanner
As a Paraplanner, my role is integral to the financial planning process at Elevation Wealth Partners. I am responsible for tracking and coordinating the various aspects of the planning process, ensuring that all necessary steps are completed in a timely manner. This includes maintaining client accounts, organizing documents, and facilitating effective communication between clients and our team. In addition to these administrative tasks, I provide technical support to both our clients and the firm.
Prior to joining Elevation Wealth Partners, I worked as a graduate student instructor at Colorado State University, teaching economics. This experience enhanced my ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner. In terms of education, I hold a Masters in Economics from Colorado State University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Economics. I am currently pursuing my PhD in economics at Colorado State University, further deepening my understanding of economic principles and their application to financial planning.
When it comes to my job, what I enjoy the most is the process of helping build client financial plans. It is fascinating to witness seemingly disparate data come together to create the basis for the advisors’ recommendations.
I live and work in Fort Collins, CO and I am often found riding my mountain bike in the foothills or working on my project car.
