Divorce
Divorce is one of the most emotionally and financially challenging times in a woman's life. She may have left management of the family finances up to her spouse and now finds herself shouldering the responsibility. She may need to return to the workforce after a hiatus. The division of assets, maintenance of two households, loss of a stream of income, and adjusting to a new way of life are all sources of enormous stress.
Bereavement
Women have longer life spans than men. As a result of this disparity, most widows are women (77% as of 2018!). The passing of a spouse can cause income to decline, expenses to increase, and the taking on of new responsibilities, Partnering with a financial advisor can help you traverse the uncertainty of bereavement or work with you to prepare for the possibility of widowhood.
Caregiving/Trustees
Oftentimes, women become the caregivers for their elderly parents. Caregiving is exhausting as well as expensive. She may be the financial power of attorney or the trustee that is responsible for making financial decisions on behalf of her parent(s) and managing their investment portfolio.
